HOW TO LINK A WEBSITE

1. Create an Account

Creating an account is simple - just specify your email address, and choose a username and password.

2. Specify a Bitcoin Address

In order to enable the 'Link a Website' button on your account page, you first need to specify a bitcoin address where you will receive payment

If you haven't used bitcoin before, don't worry - creating an online bitcoin wallet is easy. The "How to Set Up a Wallet" page on the Bitcoin Simplified website is a good place to get started. A more complete list of available wallets is available via bitcoin.org.

4. Complete the step-by-step setup

5. Understanding "pay-for paths"

You need to have pay-for paths if you are only linking part of your website. So you will need at least one pay-for path if you are using the Page Redirect, the Reverse Proxy or the Secret Folder link methods.

Example

Let's say your website is www.example.com and you add a pay-for path called '/premium'. This means anything in the path

http://www.example.com/premium

is linked to Coinetize. So you if you have articles 'article1.html' and 'article2.html' that you want to charge for, you can do so by making sure they can be found at the urls

Your pay-for articles (in /premium)

http://www.example.com/premium/article1.html
http://www.example.com/premium/article2.html

And if your pay-for path is /premium, then the page found at

http://www.example.com/premium

is your pay-for landing page.

Your Pay-For Landing Page

You should put the links to your pay-for articles on this your pay-for landing page - e.g. the html on http://www.example.com/premium would look something like:

(html for http://www.example.com/premium)

<a href='http://www.example.com/premium/article1.html'>Article 1</a>
<a href='http://www.example.com/premium/article2.html'>Article 2</a>

Once you have set this up, log into Coinetize first, then try clicking one of your links. A pay stub should appear, and you should be able to set the price of the link.
